Dr. Davita Mabourakh Hodges

Biography

Training & Credentials

Dr. Hodges is a double board-certified physician; she has board certification in both Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. She graduated Cum Laude from St. George’s University School of Medicine. She then went on to complete Internal Medicine Residency at Rutgers Health in New Jersey, winning several awards while there. After completing her training in Internal Medicine, Dr. Hodges worked as a hospitalist at Robert Wood Johnson(RWJ) Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey. She then became the Medical Director of the Palliative Care Department at RWJ Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center. In that role she provided inpatient palliative care consultations, and managed a multidisciplinary team providing inpatient palliative care.


Dr. Hodges completed additional fellowship training in Geriatrics at Duke University Medical Center.  She then moved to South Florida to be closer to family, and joined the team at West Broward Internal Medicine.
Dr. Hodges is also an active member of the American Geriatrics Society and has presented at National Conferences.
Dr. Hodges is passionate about providing comprehensive, individualized care for older adults. Her areas of interest and expertise include: Person-centered care, Preventative Care for Older Adults, Complex Elder Care, Memory Loss, Dementia, Delirium, Polypharmacy and De-prescribing, Frailty, Palliative care, and End-of-Life Care.
